While training at JET Functional Fitness you are guaranteed to have a trainer that is FULLY educated in health & fitness. These days it seems as though anyone can get a "personal training" certification out of a cereal box. Here at JET it is a requirement that every trainer has a four year degree in the field! Additionally, JET trainers are certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and are all required to fulfill their continuing education credits on a regular basis. This means you don't have to worry about someone who is "certified" with some basic certification that truly doesn't understand the science behind properly training the human body. At JET we want you to expect only the best from us & yourself; & then get ready for the most efficient results.

Training Philosophy:
Unfortunately the term "function fitness" seems to be thrown around very loosly these days without the concept truly being grasped. Therefore, before continuing, it's important to understand the concept of true "functional fitness" and what it really means. Functional fitness is about linking fitness to real life functions. These type of workouts are designed to reflect movements found in daily life and then train the muscles in a similar manner. The goal of each exercise is to burn as many calories as possible all while preparing the body so it can perform necessary daily activities efficiently with ease & without pain or discomfort. If we train our muscles the way we're going to actually use them, we ultimately optimize not only our ability to function in real life, but also maximize our over all strength & fitness level!
Here at JET we believe that it only makes sense to bridge the gap between working out and real life. Additionally we understand that our bodies were built to be used as one unit. Not individual pieces. Whether we're picking up a bag of groceries, competing in athletics, throwing a bale of hay, or simply getting out of bed we are always using numerous muscle groups all at once. Therefore when training at JET, many of the movements involve engaging most of your muscles in a single exercise. We realize that many of us were taught differently growing up & may be accustom to different techniques, however it really doesn't do anyone any good to be able to do a ton of weight on a specific machine, have big biceps, or large lats if they struggle walking up or down a flight of stairs. By NO means does training functionally mean you have to sacrifice the typical, appearance & health benefits people strive for with an exercise routine. The reality behind it is, when training correctly ALL benefits will come along more quickly and efficiently!
